Creating Consequences
On the flip side of the coin from incentives we have consequences. Consequences are not synonymous with punishments, but instead need to be thought of as the outcome of particular courses of action. Consequences are what determine whether we repeat a course of action or try to find another way to accomplish our goals and meet our needs. The basic categories of consequences available to you in the school setting are Natural, Conventional, Educational and Generic.
